So in order to make every one of us happy, Ive made this post. If any of you aint sure either a game will run on your PC, ask for requirements or tweaks or whatever here. We dont want any similar topics hanging around lol. Theres already too much.
I'll give an example: Any games after Doom 3 obviously needs at least Rad9200 to run the game. 256MB RAM and P4 1.8 Ghz.
Or if you need any tweaks: some game lets you adjust the sound quality. If you can lower down the sound quality, do it. I did it with my PSO and it runs about 60% more fluidly than before.
So thats about it.

FOR SIMPLEST PLEASURE (640x480 resolution, all settings minimized/turned off, all background services off):
1. 256mb RAM. If you think you can have fun with 128, you're kidding yourself. Even Win XP is choking on 128mb.
2. Windows XP and above. Well, Longhorn will be coming soon (and it'll probably be called Windows 2006 or something). Windows 98/2000/Me are absolutely outdated by now.
3. nVidia GeForce 2MX or 4MX. But I warn you, you won't be getting much frames out of this. To be getting 20 or above is already very good.
FOR BETTER GAMING (medium settings/low settings):
1. Your absolute minimum should be a Radeon 9550 or a GeForce 4FX 5700. Yes, you can kid yourself into buying a GeForce 5200 or a Radeon 9200, but you'll be using an outdated infrastructure.
2. 768mb RAM and above. 512 is good for some games, the optimised kind, but you'll want 768 to reduce all the loading times.
3. A good processor. Anything that can go above 1.8/2.0 ghz is good.
4. The most current graphics drivers.
FOR PERFECT, MINDBLOWING GAMING (everything looking photorealistic)
1. Face it, if you really did have that kind of hardware, you wouldn't be reading this thread.
Hope this was helpful enough (for this year or the next six months)

Do read the files accompanying the game.
When it's says "Minimum Requirements", that means either suffer or don't play at all.
When it goes "Recommended Requirements", that means it's still not good enough. Copy system specifications at your peril and displeasure.

Latest News!(not so latest)
For all those worrywart out there, theres more to worry. As all of you would know, there will be a major changes in gaming which is far more better graphic engine. And of course, Source seems like a good choice for devs in the future. To all, remember that hardware becomes outdated very quickly.
Three years ago, the GeForce 4TI 4200 was the best money could buy.
Five years ago, the GeForce 2 MX was the best.
Now, it's gonna cost you RM2000+ to get a GeForce 6800 or a Radeon X850.

In the past, new best cards would usually cost at RM 1500 at introduction like my Geforce Ti4600 which i both at launch and was considered the best at that time, but now new top end cards would cost like 2500 at launch and our income ain't getting any higher.....

Guys it's not worth getting a VGA card that has 256mb of ram...games now days just use up to 128mb of ram....and most games today are more processor heavy plus memory....and they don't really rely on the VGA cards Memory.....maybe in the future it might be worth it to get a vga card that has 256mb of video ram.....but at the moment most games just use up to 128mb of vga ram.......it got this piece of info from the screensavers show at Channel 13..

piracyburner: cant help ya there. Surt the net or try their demo(if theres any)
powerofchaos: looks like you cant be able to play San Andreas. Upgrade your card to at least FX5600/Rad9550. Only get FX5200/Rad9200 if youre really broke. And you dont need 256MB RAM for the cards, at least for now.
I forgot what graphic card is in her PC! How to find out about it?QUOTE(Coz131 @ May 16 2005, 03:54 PM)
