Need For Speed Underground 2 hangs during race replay with repeating sounds (meaning sound oso freezes).

Funny thing is... on certain tracks only. Its no big deal but, for me... dats the only part where I can see my rides in action!

Try to update all you drivers.Reinstalling will also help.

If that occured randomly, try to play on a short circuit for 5 or more laps and see. If the same thing occurs, yeah update your driver. But, before that you might want to try to lower your graphic setting, turn of AA and such
