Ok i brought an original Dawn of War :Winter Assult and had just received it from my uncle at KL today(I live at Kelantan,and there are little shop that sell ori games)But to my horror!I need to patch the game to v1.4 to install!!!!!!!

I dunno wat to do cause i run on a 56k dial - up connection and patching is certainly almost impossible!!So I asked my friend on how 2 sovle the problem and he told me to try buy an "unoriginal"version of the game as they usually comes with a patch file.i brought one and yes,it does have a patch files but the problem starts to occur when i access the file...........inside the folder "patches"are numerous files labled with a patch version from wat to wat ,(EG:v1.00-V1.1)but when i open the folder,only 2 files with name "patch"(rtp file) and a word pad file named "setting".

So my question is,how to patch using the files?

PS: Sorry if i offended ppl in the forum of the term "unoriginal"but i have little choice and thats wat i could think of so plsss...dont ban me ok?

if u bought dvd there is an update icon kinna like witter assault icon lo.

Oik thnx guys but i already figure the prob,it seems that the c**ack file was stopping the patching process and....no i use ori,i use cra*k file so that i dont need to use or damage ori CD as it cost me an arm,an leg and my little toe just to buy 1!

And yes!It matters!!!!!That patch file download time was 3days and 8h!!!!!!Could i download it ?i think not..........

Go get the Broadband , guy . You are not going online gaming with just 56K , p**k . If you wanna go unoriginal , you gonna have alot of experiance in their hacking tricks . But try to dump irated stuff , they usually broke your wallet .

oik.i use ori...but use cra##k juz to make sure i dont need to use ori....as i am a careless handler of discs..........

Anyway, if you're using the *ahem* version of Wa and DoW, do not install the crack. Instead, install the patches foirst then get the latest crack and use that or use a CD image.

Im a DOW:winter assault player.The 1.40 patch is in the disc.There may be a reason you cant patch if you have the fake version of the original DOW.The update process will stop at the .exe part if the original DOW is cr**ked.You need to reinstall it and dont cr**k it.Then, just install WA like normal.It will work.After that,you dont need any cd image or any illegal stuff to play it.You can patch it and play mods on it like normal.Fo those who wants to get more extra content for thei oiginal DOW,pls go to: http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/ .Mods,please dont ban me please.Im just trying to help.Now im a original DOW player and im goin to buy original second expansion for DOW end of this year.

Oik....u should have posted it sooner and save me the trouble for trying various,but thanks anyway....and you havent read have u?I use an ori,but use CR**k to avoid damaging my CD and i am sure lots of ppl use this method,

Not bad.I dunno why it doesnt work in filefront.com.Other than that,it's ok for me.If you dont like Download Accelerater,you can get Flash Get.

Hmm...is this the same problem?
When I run the 'WinterAssault Updater', (it auto updates without donwloading the file) it runs fine until at some point during patching, an error occured saying please install the right patch or something...HELP!!

What version are you having now?If you are having version 1.4,i dont think it will work if you just apply patch 1.51 to the game.You have to get all the patch.If you are running a*hem version,dont bother update because it wont work at all and it's because of this i got ori WA.
