Need help from ppl out there!!!! Need help on games refusing to start

Hi i am new here,my friend told me u guys here can help me solve my prob.

This is my problem,after i installed Civ4,and try to start it,an error saying

"application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found,reinstalling might solve the problem"

I tried reinstalling but it didnt work,so can anyone here plsss tel me wat to do!!!

Also,why my comp shows error saying "failed creating D3D device" when i try to start the omnimusha 3 game demo given by PC gamer?

Plsss help, iappreciate it!

wat GC are u using?

Hmmm still how to solve the omnimusha problem and is that file u ask me download safe?

Great,after i downloaded the file another error saying cannot find MSVCP71.dll..wat on earth are these files for??

Copy that MSVCP71.dll into C:\Windows\System32

and about the "failed to create D3D device error" I think its about DirectX problem or your graphics card driver or your GC don't support the game.

Gee but the newest is directX 9.0c right?i already got it installed,but the error still appears and it seems that its not only me who faces this problem...........
so if anyone who faced this problem and can play plss tell me how to solve!


Also.do the guys at PC gamer actually visit this forum?I just wanna know!

wink.gif Direct X is the most complicated stuff in Gaming . Be patient , try go to DXDIAG , click start and choose RUN , type in DXDIAG then go to Display tab , see if your graphic card driver name and version is displayed , also see if the three option below the 3D accel stuff are enable . If they are not available , you got problem with your graphic card . tongue.gif

DirectX seems fine i guess.....but i dont think its wrong with my graphic card as I could play many games like DOW,CIV4 and Omnimusha 1 on my comp,but the oly problem that occurs is from Omnimusha 3......

Does anyone have a solution here?Guys From the PC Gamer MAgazine,I hope u guys can help me as it is ur demo that i cant seem to play!!!!(Eventhough i dont think u guys going to read this post)

Also others who faces this prob and solved it,plsss tell me how!
