Hello, another photo session going up the constitution hill in my small village town. But this time with my friend and at the right time. It's the 1st time i have this 1st hand experience of the impact of light on landscape pictures while all this while i could only see the effects of lights in books and magazines. With the right light, really it proves that level and curve wasn't "that" essential after all.

Hope you guys like it and please, do add in comments and critiques as well. Hope to have more knowledge to be critical of my own pictures. Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Wow, I like G11, so romantica!! If only you can go lower on the angle so most of the couple's body will have the water (white/bright) as background.

Btw... so kiam siap lar u... use so small size... how to see detail wor.

They are really nice shots.....wonder ahy some of the shots the sky rendered as dark blue? or a bit too dark....
A good photo involves seizing the moment, as well as the subject

Love no 11 very much. Very romantic. It touches our loves feeling. After seeing that shot, heart beats increase and think back when first love. Now the feeling had gone and never comes back. Nice series...

hehe not kiam siap lah, lazy only.. By uploading them into the facebook, it skips the step of resizing it mah, hehehe. As for pic11, they were at the lower part of the slope, so i had duck down for that shot. Anyway, i feel this shot could be better if the exposure was correct. what do you think?

hehe.gif I was using 3 piece of ND GRAD at once, ND8, ND4, ND2. So that's why it blocked out most of the light in the sky in some shots.. If only I could have those Singh-Ray reverse grad filters.. sad.gif

Nice work Sammuel. You should return and shot more. I love Pic 7, the hard rock texture and the soft wave is really a strong composition. However, the line is not level. Edit with PS should be good.

I think the exposure is just nice. Give a feeling of depth and mystery, and of coz romantic. biggrin.gif

oh god.. missed that one.. yeah i guess i got to be more careful with horizon.. I was shooting with a friend of mine who is using Nikon D80, and his viewfinder was so cool. You can in anytime add grid lines in it without changing the focus screen... unlike my E-510, you can only see grid lines in live-view.. and no, there is not even any options of changing the focusing screen.. dry.gif

Sam, I know your frustration on this issue. My Canon has none of that and this force me to be more careful in composition. The other way I use to level the horizon is using the auto focus points as my guide. In some occasions, I use PS editing leveling tools.

My way is always put some attention on the horizon line before pressing the second half of the shuttle button on the camera when taking landscape shots and then do the necessary adjustment using PS to fine-tune.

By the way, nice shots you got there!! good.gif

Ulu is one thing... even so ulu u got so much of nice scenery to shoot, I want to be there too. I confirm will invest in even better tripod and shoot landscape day in day out... waiting for the light on the same spot until I got the best that I can get (to do this, u need to be away from distraction of the shopping mall and fun places to go).

yeah, got to be much more careful eventhough sometime i still missed it.. Yeah i tried the using the focus point as a level reference, but sometime the horizon is fall too far from those 3 dots.. oh yes yes, my Oly only got 3 dots.. not like canon hehe

yeah, no choice but to crop out a little to make the horizon level.. but like you said, better get everything as right as possible before shooting it.. else i will end up sitting in front of my laptop the whole day

This is all Kuala Lumpur's fault lah.. I'm so used to city already.. without the sight of skyscrapers, really not feeling very comfortable.. there's once i went to birmingham, saw those tall modern buildings, really got a much comfortable feeling
