Still, it's far from what you would normally see , for example, during the fashion shoots like the previous Fashion on 1.

But of course, there would still be one or two people (supposedly seasoned photographers) who will bump you out of their way to stand smack right in front of your lens without as much as saying "excuse me"... even when he was arrived 5 minutes late to get a better spot... even at less chaotic events...

Well, just to clarify that I'm not saying that it's bad to have such a crowded event... I guess anyone who's a shutterbug could appreciate the organizer's effort in putting together the event... Me inclusive, even though I wasn't there laugh.gif

What I mentioned was from previous experience; nothing to do with the photo posted here... It's just sad to see that some fellow photographers lacked the skill for being more considerate toward others... Sigh...

As I have repeatedly stressed previously, the advent of digital in photography allows more people to pick up this medium as a hobby. L-series or ED-G-series lenses are considered affordable by those with deep pockets, who may not necessary be working professionals in the first place. Hence, their lack of ethical manners when shooting in such places are common behaviour associated with M'sians in general. Using those high-end cameras and lenses do not qualified them as pro photogs.

For the most parts, I think the real pro photogs wouldn't be seen joining the normal photo enthusiasts in shooting such public model shooting events or even fashion shows except for those working for the newspapers, magazines and news agencies.

Ten years ago, fashion shows at the various shopping malls, unless the local media were invited, there were usually only 3 cameramen shooting those events - the official photographer, the official videographer and yours truly. hehe.gif

Why so few? Simple. Film and processing costs. The typical M'sian mentality of not spending $$$ for something that has no benefits in return, that's why only people with genuine passion in photography took up this medium as a hobby during the film era.

Yup! I agree with you, ProD. Which is probably why you can see Ken Wong standing there with arms folded... Or maybe he was there for some other reasons like helping out with the event...

As for the nature of things... if it's not for anything important (like taking a money shot), I think I would not have to bare with it... I'd just walk away... But who knows eh... hehe.gif

He was on a ladder, hence the height and the blocking of view from my angle. It doesn't affect a lot of other gal shooters, though because I was shooting from quite a distance using a telephoto angle. biggrin.gif laugh.gif smile.gif

We don't get to see such a scene (a lot of gal shooters shooting racequeens) during MSS but similar ones can be repeated during the upcoming MME race on Aug 28-30. But only before and during starting grid procedures for MME. The gal shooters normally won't stay around much longer after 1 hour of the MME race in progress since many of the racequeens won't be hanging around at SIC either. The MME racequeens will only be back during the final hour of the race (provided if their respective teams are still racing and not suffering DNFs).

This will also be the time when the gal shooters will be returning to SIC to capture the racequeens cheering for their teams.
